A Living Room and Kitchen update in Westchester, NY

Living Room

In this Briarcliff Manor Design Renovation in Wetschester County NY, The Living Room had a heavy ornate light fixture and an awkward angled fireplace feature highlighted by dark textured wall covering giving the space a “weighty”, overly traditional feel.

We squared off the fireplace feature and applied Farrow and Ball Railings in their super matte Estate Emulsion finish. Without even a mantel to break up this strong vertical element, the fireplace makes a striking modern statement in this updated living room and the sculptural light fixture highlights the light airy feel of the space.

Kitchen

There are so many kitchens with this dated tuscan style trend in Westchester left over from late 90’s, early 2000 renovations. This family wanted a clean, modern aesthetic without an all out renovation.

The cabinets are high quality and in great shape so removed some of the fussy molding details, painted them a crisp white (Benjamin Moore Chantilly Lace), A new countertop, backsplash and hardware and voila! Not a huge investment but a huge transformation.
