Mood Board Monday - Yellow
We are kicking off our weekly mood board series this week. If you have been following me on Instagram, I started my journey around the color wheel a few weeks ago and our first mood board focus today is YELLOW…. This color exploration has been a fun way to explore each color in detail and discover the nuanced hues within each. It’s amazing the variety within each color range!
Yellow got a bad rap a few years ago as being “dated” in that people used to think painting a room yellow made it feel “sunny”. It got overdone. My take on yellow is it is a great accent in a room especially when mixed with neutrals and more earthy tones. It can be very sophisticated when you lean toward ochre on the red side or fern on the green side . A room in Benjamin Moore Gray Owl with it’s slight green undertones combined with hits of deep green/charcoal is a great backdrop for some of the sophisticated yellow accent pieces shown here.
